On the EKINOS in Frankfurt am Main. Our cinema business was established in 1926 when the regional cinema "Eden-Filmtheater" was opened at Langestraße in Ostend, Frankfurt. This makes us the oldest cinema company in Frankfurt and one of the five oldest cinema companies in Germany. 


As a traditional family business, we do everything we can to make you feel at home: our friendly team to ensure personalized service, our hall and screening room is equipped with the most advanced projection and film technology, the last but not the least important for us is the unique atmosphere of our family business, movie fans here to create a program for movie fans. 

We place a special emphasis on children and family films, complex entertainment from the mainstream to the arts, and special film programming for schools and kindergartens.

Genre and duration:

The festival accepts short films of all types, including but not limited to narrative films, documentaries, cartoons, experimental films, etc. .

Completion time and premiere requirements:

Entries need to have been completed within the past three years.
The Frankfurt Festival of Short Films may not have strict requirements for premieres, but it generally encourages submissions of works that have not been shown at other big film festivals.

Language & Subtitles:

English subtitles are required for international audiences.
If the film is in non-english dialogue, English subtitle translation documents are also required.

Submission:

Submit the film and related materials through official online platform, including film documents, plot synopsis, introduction of the director and main cast and crew, etc. .
A registration fee is payable upon submission (the amount is subject to the annual film festival regulations) .

Closing ceremony:

After the ceremony, a closing ceremony was held to summarise the festival's achievements and to thank all the participants and sponsors for their support.
Copyright & Licensing:

The submitter should ensure that the film is fully copyrighted and licensed for display and subsequent promotion at the festival.
The festival organizers have the right to non-commercial screening, promotion and promotion of the films during and after the festival.
Detailed structure of the activity

Opening Ceremony:

Important guests, judges and participants will be invited to attend on the first day of the festival.
There are usually screenings of opening films and guest speeches at the opening ceremony.

Screenings:

During the festival, several screenings will be arranged at designated cinemas or cultural centres.
The films are classified according to genre, theme or country, making it easy for the audience to choose.

Forums and lectures:

Awards ceremony will be held on the closing day of the festival to announce and award awards.
